The dog appears to be leading the owner of the hand down a long sidewalk with blank tall walls presumably buildings on his left and across the road on their right. The area near the hand at the bottom of the paining is dark done in mostly black and white with a bright sunset at the top of the image in hues of gold and purple giving the impression the dog is leading the owner into a brighter area.
