Jo Williams (00:00):
Joey Martin is from Warrenton, North Carolina and is currently studying painting at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. His artwork mainly focuses on realism, but is currently working towards abstraction, finding it more challenging than representational portraiture. Martin was influenced by Charles E. Burchfield's watercolor landscapes for his ability to depict feelings and emotions to the audience through abstract line and the use of color. He's hoping to expand and surpass Burchfield's technique for using line to represent waves of sound and to push the boundaries of translating something that is not seen or heard into something visual.
